Village Emporium Quiz Quilt

The group made this quilt as a quiz prize in response to a request from The Village Emporium magazine that circulates in Daventry and the surrounding district on a bi-monthly basis. They printed a very comprehensive two page article about Danetre Quilters in the September/October 2015 edition and this was our way of showing our appreciation.
The quilt is being displayed by member Carole Pleace on the left and Chairman Yvonne Orchard on the right.

Our 30th Anniversary Cake

To celebrate our 30th Anniversary at the 22nd September meeting, we were delighted to receive a delicious fruit cake baked and expertly decorated by longstanding member Zena Green - many thanks Zena everyone enjoyed the cake and the evening very much.

Games of Quilts - Festival of Quilts 2015

Two members, Carole Pleace and Ann Beech took part in the "Games of Quilts" Challenge at this year's Festival of Quilts, the challenge being that a team of four quilters made a quilt in a day.  The design was stipulated in advance and testing and planning were allowed but fabric could only be cut on the day.  It was made with a combination of machine and hand sewing and was completed by 5.30 in the evening.  Hard work but great fun!!

Arts and Crafts at Daventry Leisure Centre 18th July 2015

A small exhibition stand we provided for the Arts and Crafts fortnight at Daventry's Leisure Centre on a bright and sunny Saturday afternoon.  Lots of visitors and welcoming comments about our work. We also did a small demonstration of hand stitched hexagons.
